After Audio Pornography, there was much umming and ahhing about what to do next, the title of Laughing at Dogs was already to go, and a bunch of utterly disconnected songs. Then came the idea of creating a coherent piece of connected goodness in 27 minutes, interlocking songs with instrumentals, to tell a story (which Dave has been very cagey about for the most part, after being so very blatant on the two preceding albums). 4 years and a lot of rewrites later, this is what came out. It will be difficult to top, but luckily there's a lot of material left over to work with, still taking another 4 years to do the follow up though.
