about

Apologies to anyone who was waiting for this album, it took a while, I was distracted by shiny things. I think the oldest track on here, Girls Flip Flops, is nearly 10 years old now, as Adam and Rudi are now 18 and 20, and fairly embarrassed by their performance on it. Red Son is nearly as old, certainly in it's first incarnation, and was part of the Laughing at Dogs project before it got egg-flipped and everything changed. Originally Kicking Puppies was just a joke name for all the songs that couldn't fit on to Laughing at Dogs, however a lot of those went the way of the bin as well, and mostly this album is the result of my having to do a bunch of live shows a few years ago and realising that I had no material at all that I could play live. So I wrote these songs, and it took me forever to get round to recording them all. Sorry.

Thanks as always go to my lovely wife Netty, my Stepkids Adam and Rudi (sorry for making you sing) and Rizla, the most long suffering dog in the world. The Cats have been more of a hindrance so I shan't thank them. Also, you can thank everyone I've played in a band with for the last 5 years for giving me lists of songs to learn and making this thing take even longer.

Enjoy, and thanks for listening,

Dave

about

Plastic Squirrel Devon, UK

Throwing unlikely instruments together in the comfort of my own garage since 1996. Still not settled on one type of music, because I like all types of music. Unashamedly lo-fi recording, it is the song that is important, not the production, okay?

Sorry for the slow output, but life continues to get in the way of art I'm afraid, so bear with me, there will be new material eventually.
